Cornerstone maintains a deeply held commitment of providing a positive impact in the communities we’re so proud to be a part of.  This commitment shines brightly in our Michigan market.  Year after year, the associates at our location in Davison, Michigan, choose to support worthy causes in the area in lieu of an office holiday party.

“Never do we have a staff member elect to have the party,” says regional director Brenda Self. “All of us get so much satisfaction from the Day of Giving.

“It’s a very busy day that includes visits to the VA Hospital, Whaley’s Children’s Center, Genesee County Humane Society and The Food Bank,” she adds. “We’ve prepared meals for the homeless, shopped for children whose greatest wish is to have a family and hugged several cats and dogs along the way.  This year our team did some Christmas caroling for the senior living community and we made a donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. We’ve included our clients and temporary associates in a friendly donation drive competition, awarding the winning company with a luncheon for the employees.  It’s a great way to celebrate the holidays at work.”

“We are well known in our communities for being the national company with a local feel,” Self says.

While Cornerstone has all kinds of community service programs, our Michigan Day of Giving is one that seems to connect people at all levels of our organization. Our volunteer work is an exciting opportunity to get involved.

“Our staff tells stories of the day all throughout the year and is always incredibly proud of the fact that our president makes the trip from California to Michigan each year to attend our Day of Giving,” Self says.
